How to Sell Your Art

Many talented artists struggle to sell their paintings. Just because you are very talented doesn't mean that success is automatic. You must also be able to market yourself and your work. In that order. Art buyers are buying the persona of the artist as well as the physical art.

In this age of social media, you would think that it would be fairly easy to build a following for your work, and it is!  The problem is that you can't deposit "Likes" at the bank. If you could wouldn't that be sweet?

Being liked on a platform such as Facebook or Instagram is only the first step. You must get out of the studio and meet people as well. Work to build name recognition. Your online presence is an excellent means of promoting and building your brand.

To make money with your art, start by selling your work locally. Be on the lookout for art fairs. Reach out to local art galleries and arrange for them to sell your work on consignment. All it takes is a phone call. As talented as you are, success awaits you. But you can't be bashful. Just remember that confidence sells great art.

Make High Quality Gesso the foundation of your next masterpiece.
